Santex to target LatAm outsourcing market - Chile
US IT outsourcing services provider Santex Standard has launched operations in Chile and sees the country as a base for targeting the rest of the Latin American market, the company said in a statement.
The services will mainly be provided from the company's operations center in the Argentine province of Córdoba, which currently serves only the US market.
The company has made strong investments in the center, particularly in IT, communications infrastructure and qualified human resources.
Unlike standard IT outsourcing models, which offer certain services to be implemented within certain timeframes, Santex Standard's business model is a more flexible approach, according to Santex Standard's business development director for Latin America, José Luis Jiménez.
Santex's business model is based on creating work teams that build projects according to client requirements and resources available.
"We have a partnership with the client, so the client gains in efficiency and dedicates his time to his business and strategy and we gain in maintaining the resources and services," Jiménez told BNamericas.
Santex operates with a level 2 CMMi (Capability Maturity Model Integration) certification and is currently in the process of achieving level three in this model.
Santex does not focus on any particular sector, although it sees the telecommunications, financial services and retail sectors as having greatest potential, Jiménez said.
The company chose Chile due to its economic and political stability and the small size of the market makes it an ideal testing ground before launching into bigger markets, like Brazil. Chile is becoming increasingly attractive to multinational companies as a Latin American base and investment platform to other parts of the region, Jiménez said.
However, Santex has no set investment budget for the region as such, and plans to invest depending on demand.
